Regional support for the development of key competences in Pomeranian schools

The main objective of the project is to improve the quality of education in the Pomeranian Voivodeship and to increase the internal educational cohesion of the region by shaping and developing students' key competences and improving teachers' competences. The coordination project will be implemented in the form of a grant project (in accordance with Article 41 of the Act of 28 April 2022 on the rules for implementing tasks financed from European funds in the 2021-2027 financial perspective). The project provides for the involvement of regional teacher training institutions: Pomeranian Centre for Teacher Education in Gdańsk (PCEN) and Pomeranian Centre for Teacher Improvement in Słupsk (PODN). The project includes: 1. actions addressed to schools with the results of external examinations below the provincial average located in the area of municipalities indicated as at risk of marginalisation (Areas of Strategic Intervention - in accordance with the National Strategy for Regional Development), the list of which constitutes Annex 2 to the Regulations for the selection of projects - Annex to Resolution No 946/472/23 ZWP of 10 August 2023. - further: activities dedicated to schools with OSI; 2. Actions targeting all schools in the region – further: horizontal actions. Ad 1. The action dedicated to schools from OSI, resulting from the diagnosis of needs, will be implemented by: 1) bodies running schools in the area of OSI (Grantees) within the framework of grants awarded by the Beneficiary, in accordance with the Regulations for entrusting grants: a) Students: extracurricular activities carried out using the potential of various entities; psychological and pedagogical support; career counselling; Teachers: training, postgraduate studies, other forms of improving competences in the field of shaping students' key competences, implementation of an individualized education process, use of communication and information technologies and the use of activating teaching methods and techniques. Details on the implementation of the actions will be determined by the Regulations for entrusting grants. The scope of grant activities defined by the Grantees in grant applications will be detailed at the stage of activities supporting the Grantees, carried out by the PCEN and PODN. 2) PCEN, PODN and the Department of Education and Sport (DES), regional forms of support for Grantees: Teachers: implementation of new forms of work aimed at effective development of key competences, including school couching; b) school directors/substantive staff of bodies conducting: managing the organisation, including through the use of digital technologies; Ad. 2. Horizontal actions implemented by PCEN, PODN and DES, regional forms of support: Teachers: trainings, seminars, other forms of improvement improving educational, digital, interpersonal and communication competences, including in the field of building relationships, as well as shaping civic and equality attitudes and pro-ecological attitudes in students, self-evaluation and professional pre-orientation; Preparing for new roles, such as: mentor, tutor, coach; professional advisers: trainings, seminars and other forms of improvement improving competences in the field of recognizing the predispositions of students, including students with special educational needs, as well as indicating educational or professional development paths; c) heads of schools and educational establishments and substantive staff of bodies running schools and educational establishments: training, seminars and other forms of improvement improving the organisation’s management competences, including through the use of digital technologies; mentoring provided by employers/entrepreneurs. Expected results: increasing the chances of educational success of pupils from schools with the lowest scores in external examinations; strengthening the competences of teachers, career counsellors; improving the competences of school and educational institution management staff and representatives of the bodies running schools and educational institutions.
