Exemplary vocational training in Wejherowo - II

The main objective of the project is to improve the quality of vocational education of the Non-Public School of Crafts in Wejherowo (NSR) by adapting to the changing economy, including in particular to the needs of key industries, i.e. construction (BUD), electricity (ELE) and complementary - wood (DRE). We want to achieve this through specific objectives, i.e.: increasing the chances of 237 students to succeed in the labour market, including through the acquisition of new competences; adapting the professional competences of 27 teachers and trainers of practical vocational training to the requirements of the dynamically changing labour market; support for pupils with professional counselling; increasing the participation and systematization of school cooperation with employers and universities; promotion of a positive image of vocational education among the residents of Mr. Wejherowski. The TARGET GROUP in the project will be students (2-K) and students (235-M) (from the BUD, ELE, DRE industries - a total of 237 students) of the NSR together with their teachers (2-K) / teachers (5-M) and instructors / instructors of practical learning (20), who will be equipped with new competences. THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSISED: a) Inadequate preparation of teachers to conduct classes, b) Shortage of classes developing students' competences necessary on the labour market, c) Inadequate preparation of school students for internships in companies, d) Lack of planning of the educational and vocational path. The following SUPPORT ACTIVITIES will be carried out in response to the above problems: a) STUDENTS who will take part in internships with employers (237os); courses and trainings in the field of: CAD design, interpersonal communication, geodetic measurements; Occupational English; specialised, inter alia, in the simulator – metalworking; specialist seminars, among others, on environmental protection and renewable energy sources; career counselling; b) VET TEACHERS and INSTRUCTORS of practical apprenticeship (27os) in the organization of courses/trainings for them; As part of the activities, the workshops will be equipped with the necessary teaching aids for practical training workshops. The project is being carried out in Wejherowo (Mr Wejherowo). The applicant (association of employers/body running the NSR) and the NSR cooperate on an ongoing basis with approx. 290 entrepreneurs and universities. The project will be implemented in accordance with the principle of equality regardless of gender, belief, religion, disability (...). The need for implementation results from the needs of the market and the demand for individual professions (document: https://barometrwodow.pl/# Access: 14.11.2023), and this is related, among others, to the construction of strategic investments in the Wejherowo area (construction of EJ, wind farms). The presented activities also result from statistical data of the Central Statistical Office (GUS), from which it appears that the population in many (10-14 and above). 15 years) of the Wejherowo district increases from 12 000 in 2016 to 14 600 in 2020. The above data is also confirmed by the study entitled "Socio-economic potential of Pomorskie voivodships in the context of the development of key sectors of the region", where only in the Gdańsk and Wejherowo districts by 2035 the number of young people aged 13-15 will increase by more than 5% - in Mr Wejherowski by 9% (p. 14). The project is in line with the scope of the strategic project entitled ‘Shaping the network of vocational schools in Pomerania – stage II’, adopted by Resolution No 852/466/23 of the Pomeranian Voivodeship Executive Board of 18 July 2023, Annex No 22. The project is integrated with the project submitted under Measure 6.2 of the FEP entitled ‘Purchase of equipment for teaching workshops of the Non-Public School of Crafts in Wejherowo’.
