The main goal of the project is to increase the effectiveness of vocational education in selected key industries for the region's economy by supporting students in the field of professional skills and teacher training, promoting vocational education and modernizing the training base. The project relates to support for vocational education in Lębork County. It will be implemented in 3 schools providing vocational training for which the authority is the District of Lębork – Complex of Mechanical and Information Schools, District Education Centre, Complex of Schools of Food Management and Agribusiness (all based in Lębork). The project includes support for the Smart Specializations of Pomerania industries, which are expected on the local and regional labour market. They are also crucial for the economy and their development will affect the competitiveness of the region. Selected industries by the District of Lębork: electronic-mechatronic, forwarding-logistics, ICT, hospitality-gastronomy-tourism. Support to be provided: 1)to support 550 pupils in acquiring additional qualifications and professional skills (additional courses, internships, study visits with employers) 2)to improve the competences of 13 teachers of vocational subjects/practical apprenticeship instructors (courses, internships, study visits with employers) 3)activities of a career counsellor (together with the promotion of vocational training) 4)purchase of modern educational equipment and devices for vocational workshops in the above-mentioned schools Support will implement the themes of actions defined in the "Integrated Skills Strategy 2030 (detailed part) The main result of the project is to increase the pass rate of vocational exams and increase the employment of graduates in the learned profession. In addition, the new employee will be suitably qualified, his knowledge and skills will be adapted to current trends in the industry and he will have practical skills. The need for comprehensive action to solve the problems of schools/teachers/students/employers will affect a qualitative change in their functioning. The main problem of vocational education in the district of Lębork is the unsuited fields of education to the current needs of the labour market, outdated equipment and equipment in school workshops, the lack of opportunities to finance additional classes for students giving skills and qualifications expected on the labour market, the lack of opportunities to finance the professional development of teachers, the lack of opportunities to deepen the knowledge of both students and teachers in real conditions, i.e. with potential employers. The project activities are a consequence of the Diagnosis of educational needs in the field of vocational education in schools run by the District of Lębork, carried out and developed (covering the period XI.2022 - XI.2023). Diagnostic tools used: social meetings and debates with students/teachers/parents/entrepreneurs/ PPP/ODN/teaching councils; meetings of working teams of employees of the SP, the Labour Office, schools, psychological and pedagogical clinic, district councillors; analysis of employment needs on the labour market, information on the state of education and programming documents; analysis of GUS data and guidelines, focus research, analysis of recruitment in supported fields. The integrated project is part of a strategic project coordinated by the Pomeranian Voivodeship Self-Government entitled: ‘Shaping the network of vocational schools in Pomerania – Phase II’, as indicated in the Regional Strategic Programme for Education and Social Capital. The project implementing the above-mentioned strategic project was identified and approved by Resolution No 852/466/23 of the Pomorskie Provincial Executive Board of 18 July 2023. The project is integrated into the project of the Lębork County submitted in response to the competition under Measure 6.2. Inclusive and vocational education infrastructure.
