The main objective of the project is to improve the quality of vocational education by adapting vocational schools to the changing economy, including in particular to the needs of key industries for the region. Specific objectives: 1) increasing the chances of vocational school students to succeed on the labour market, including through the acquisition of so-called "soft" competences. 2) adapting the professional competences of teachers to the requirements of the dynamically changing labour market. 3)increasing the participation and systematization of cooperation between vocational schools and employers and universities 4)promotion of a positive image of vocational education among the inhabitants of Pomerania Problems: Starogard County carried out a "Diagnosis of the needs of vocational schools in the area of project implementation" (40 surveys, 2022), which shows that the problem is still too low quality and mismatch of the vocational education offer with the changing economy and labour market needs. Vocational guidance is insufficiently functioning, and employers' involvement in the implementation of the vocational education process is still too low (the "Starogard District Development Strategy 2021-2027"). Numerous challenges related, among others, to changes in education and the labour market make it necessary to develop effective support mechanisms for teachers, including improving the quality of their work and qualifications. In view of the above problem analysis, the applicant selected the following target group for support: The target group of the project is: 1000 students (130K/870M) and 45 teachers (20K/25M) from 5 secondary schools in Starogard County: Economic School Complex in Starogard Gd., Vocational School Complex in Starogard Gd., Technical School in Owidz, Agricultural School Complex in Bolesławowo, Secondary School Complex in Skórcz, both from leading industries: construction, power, electronics-mechatronics and forwarding-logistics, as well as complementary industries: ICT and agro-breeding. The scope of student support and teacher improvement results from the above-diagnosed needs of schools and the needs of the labour market. The main activities of the project are: - adapting education courses to the needs of the labour market, taking into account key and complementary industries (mentioned above) for the region's economy; - supporting pupils and adults in acquiring additional qualifications and professional skills by, among others, launching additional classes (including technologist. novich.), student internships, career counseling, improving the professional competences of teachers of vocational subjects (postgraduate studies, internships with employers, courses); - retrofitting of professional workshops; - promotion of vocational education by building a positive image of vocational schools among the inhabitants of Pomerania, in particular among primary school students and their parents. implementation of all activities in cooperation with employers or their organizations. Main results to be achieved through its implementation: - acquisition of qualifications by supported vocational school pupils; - obtaining professional qualifications by representatives of school staff - creating a positive image of vocational education - strengthening cooperation between school-entrepreneur and school-university The project will provide support to pupils and teachers without any discrimination, including ensuring the availability of the support offered to all its participants and ensuring the availability of all products (including services) that have not been considered neutral for all users, in accordance with accessibility standards. In addition, the project aims to promote equality and ensure full participation of persons with disabilities in society by removing existing barriers and preventing the emergence of new ones. This project is integrated with the project submitted under measure 6.2.
