The main objective of the project is to improve the quality of vocational education by adapting the School Complex in Nowy Dwór Gdański (ZS) to the changing economy, including in particular to the needs of key industries for the region. The specific objectives of the project are: 1) increasing the chances of 250 ZS students (97K, 153M) to succeed on the labour market, including by acquiring so-called "soft" competences, 2) adapting the professional competences of 12 (7K, 5M) teachers employed in ZS to the requirements of the dynamically changing labour market, 3) increasing the participation and systematization of ZS cooperation with employers and universities, 4) promoting the positive image of ZS among the inhabitants of Pomerania. The aim of the project is to organize support for 250 ZS students aimed at expanding their professional skills with a special focus on practical skills. The district authorities, when shaping the education network and selecting the fields of education, analyze all the elements that make up the entire selection of the appropriate industry, including: labour market, preferences of primary school graduates, demographic decline, outflow of primary school graduates outside the county to large cities. According to PUP data, the special demand in the coming years will be directed to qualified employees in the field of: operators of machinery and equipment, modern technologies, commerce, logistics and tourism. The project activities will be targeted at women and men. Support in the project will be dedicated to two groups: 1) Students: specialist classes, vocational courses, workshops and study trips, conducting educational and professional counselling, internships and internships with employers. (2) Teachers: further training courses, studies under. The project involves cooperation with employers. Currently, the School Team cooperates with 92 employers from 4 districts. Planned forms of cooperation: concluding further agreements, organizing practical classes and practical apprenticeships for students, increasing the access of students and teachers to modern techniques and technologies located on the premises of the workplace, involving employers in the process of developing, reviewing and consulting modifications to educational programs, consulting, obtaining and making available training materials, organizing subject trips and study visits, organizing meetings on the premises of the school, organizing internships, including foreign ones, participation of employers in organized competitions and pedagogical innovations, participation of employers in the Open Day of the School, activities as part of the incubator of entrepreneurship, expanding the employer base, presenting positive patterns of undertaking business activity. The project aims to increase the level of employability of ZS graduates. The activities to be implemented under the project were planned on the basis of a needs assessment carried out by the school’s management together with employers and the host authority (April 2023). Support in the project is dedicated to two groups: 1) Students: carrying out activities aimed at the development of professional competences, i.e. specialist classes, vocational courses, study trips, career counselling, student internships. During internships with employers, the student will have his/her guardian and equipment elements as well as paid benefits and expenses will be purchased for him/her: clothing, health and safety training, doctor, insurance. (2) Teachers: further training courses, postgraduate studies. The project also includes activities in the field of career counselling taking into account: - appointment of a career counseling consultant at the Psychological and Pedagogical Clinic at the NDG - conducting additional vocational counseling classes for secondary school students. ZS is the only vocational training institution in the Nowodworski District. The leading body wants graduates to finish school without having problems finding employment.
