Capable of Pomerania - Starogard District II

The main goal of the project is to provide especially gifted students with appropriate development support through proper diagnosis of abilities (includes an appropriate catalog of tools for identification) and adequate forms of support, enabling the acquisition of key competences and planning further educational path. Specific objectives: 1.Increasing the chances of students' success in further education and professional careers 2.Increasing the attractiveness and quality of the educational offer of schools and educational institutions in terms of supporting students' talents 3.Increasing the awareness and interest of local government units, universities, employers and parents in supporting students' talents The assumptions of the project are consistent with the detailed conditions set out in the description of the specific objective in the FEP 2021-2027 and in the description of Measure 5.8 in the SZOP. Problems: -incorrect diagnosis of pupils with special abilities and deficits in the proper selection of forms of support for the development of pupils' abilities -inadequate planning of the educational and development path -insufficient level of development of key competences -low access to education and other non-school forms of education for gifted pupils. According to research carried out for the purposes of developing the Development Strategy of the Starogard District 2021-2027 and based on the developed diagnosis of educational needs in the Starogard District (2023), young people from the region have a problem with rational estimation of their predispositions and abilities. The system of career counselling in Starog district schools is not adapted to the needs of the changing labour market and employers' expectations. Students face communication barriers, economic or social, affecting the decrease of motivation to acquire knowledge and develop interests. The project will result in the reduction of barriers to the development of skills of disadvantaged pupils, as well as the appropriate choice of forms of support for these pupils. In view of the above analysis, the applicant selected the target group: pupils with special talents from the district of Starog. (including experience in migration) at two educational levels: subst. (SP-Class: VI-VII) and sub-base. (PP-Class: I-III). Support will also be provided to parents/legal guardians of particularly gifted children from the Starogard district. Support for gifted students will be implemented using LCNK. As part of the project, both forms of support implemented in the LCNK regarding support for pupils gifted in development and raising the awareness of parents / legal guardians, also outside the LCNK, were planned. Main activities of the project: -diagnosis of students' predisposition using specialized tests, using the potential of psychological and pedagogical counseling; organizing classes using activating teaching methods and techniques using, among others, the method of educational project in six subjects; -workshops developing creativity; -professional advice; -development of digital competences; -purchase of modern teaching aids for project activities, -student support through the Talent Supervisor, -psychological workshops for parents/guardians, -academic trips, -educational trips, of a scientific/cultural nature. The project will address the themes of the action defined in the ‘Integrated Skills Strategy 2030’ (detailed part). Support in the field of digitalisation, including the purchase of equipment necessary for the implementation of project activities, is preceded by a self-assessment of resources and needs related to the implementation of the project carried out using the SELFIE tool. The project will provide support to pupils and parents/legal guardians without any discrimination. The aim of the project is to promote equality and ensure full participation of persons with disabilities in society by removing existing barriers.
