Comprehensive integration of immigrants in the MOF Starogard Gdański

The main objective of the project is to support the adaptation and strengthening of the process of socio-economic integration of immigrants by creating a wide range of forms of assistance tailored to the specific needs of project participants. The implementation of the project will make it possible to improve their linguistic, cultural, professional and social competences, thus positively affecting adaptation to the new life situation and acclimatization in the current place of residence. The applicant shall declare that the project has not been completed in accordance with Art. 6 of the General Regulation. Problems: Based on the diagnosis carried out in November 2022 and conclusions defined on the basis thereof, preliminary assumptions have been drawn up to support the socio-economic integration of third-country nationals, including immigrants, which is planned to be implemented under the Integrated Territorial Investment Facility of Starogard Gdański MOF. The diagnosis shows that it is necessary to provide psychological and legal support, increase language competences, professional activation, career counselling and support the entire process of their adaptation in a new situation and a new community. Specific objectives of the project: 1. Ensuring wide access to information, advice and assistance in matters of legal residence, legal employment, social assistance and services, including health care, professional activation, setting up a business, finding housing, enrolling a child in a nursery/kindergarten/school and other administrative and legal matters. 2. Increasing immigrants' awareness of their rights and obligations, cultural customs and their integration into the local community. 3. Support for the integration and reintegration into employment of immigrants. 4. Increasing the ability to use the Polish language. Based on the data of the Department of Security and Crisis Management of the District Office in Starogard Gdański of 9 January 2025, there are 4 temporary collective accommodation places for refugees from Ukraine in the Starogard Gdański MOF, in which a total of 204 people are accommodated. In addition, there are a total of 1,101 people in private accommodation. Persons who have arrived on the territory of the Republic of Poland since 24 February 2022 in connection with war activities on the basis of documents listed in the Act of 12 March 2022 on assistance to Ukrainian citizens in connection with armed conflict on the territory of that country will have priority participation in the project. Currently, there is an information and consulting point and a social store in the Starogard Gdański MOF, which is used by an average of 80-100 people per month, including about 20% of people receiving help for the first time. Main activities of the project: 1. Creation of an online information platform for immigrants living in the Starogard county. 2. Expanding the activities of information and assistance points for immigrants. 3. Improvement of language competences. 4. Vocational activation and acquisition of the necessary qualifications and competences to enter or broaden the labour market to enable a change of profession. 5. Organization of integration events and cultural and educational workshops. 6. Support for specialist counselling dedicated to immigrants, including psychological and legal counselling. 7. Provide intercultural assistants in schools to support children with migration experiences in schools and school communities, including educational staff, parents and legal guardians of children. 8. Organization of social assistance by expanding the activity of the social store. 9. Creating an "Internet cafe". The project will provide support to immigrants in the Starogard Gdański MOF without any discrimination. The aim of the project is to promote equality and ensure full participation of persons with disabilities in society by removing existing barriers.
