The project consists in adapting the building after the Primary School in Brzezno Wielki and adapting it to perform pre-school functions. The building is located at ul. School 5, on plot No. 141/2 of the Brzeźno district. As part of the project, a new Public Kindergarten will be created, with 91 places for children aged 3-6. The entire adopted building will be dedicated to pre-school education. The project is complementary to the project planned for implementation under Measure 5.7. Pre-primary education, which is an integrated project with this investment. The material scope of the project includes expenditure in the form of: 1. costs of the investment consisting in the adaptation of the primary school building with the necessary infrastructure for kindergarten purposes, 2. costs of purchase and installation of a playground, 3. costs of investor supervision, 4. costs of project promotion, 5. costs of developing a feasibility study for the project, 5. indirect costs related to the management and coordination of the project. The commune of Starogard Gdański is characterized by a constant increase in the population in the last 10 years and forecasts for the following years indicate a further increase in the population. This is due to the positive natural growth as well as the positive migration balance resulting primarily from the location of the commune that surrounds the city of Starogard Gdański. Currently, 613 children are enrolled in pre-school education (3-6 years). The percentage of children aged 3-6 in pre-primary education in the municipality of Starogard Gdański in 2021 was 57.1%, while a year later 61.7%. Such a low percentage of people using this form of education is due to the lack of availability of places in kindergartens in the municipality. The main goal of the project is to increase access to pre-school education that meets the specialized educational needs of children in the Starogard Gdański commune. This specific objective consists of the following specific objectives: - creating infrastructure for pre-primary education, taking into account specialised educational needs, - increasing the number of pre-primary education places. The institution responsible for the implementation of the project will be the local government unit, the Municipality of Starogard Gdański, which has the appropriate legal, organisational and substantive capacity to implement and manage the project. After the completion of the project, the assets resulting from the project will be managed by the Municipality of Starogard Gdański through the newly created organisational unit of the municipality: Public kindergarten in Brzezno and the Municipal Service Team for Educational Institutions serving these institutions. The total area of the building intended for pre-school education, reconstructed as part of the project, is 762.7 m2.
