The assumptions and objectives of the project are in line with the objective of Measure 6.7 Active and healthy ageing, types 1 and 3. The project ‘Modern working conditions at the Special Educational Centre in Varnin’ is a project whose main objective is to improve working conditions. The project promoter intends to achieve this goal by eliminating health risk factors in the workplace, including ergonomics, and implementing psychological support programs for employees, using educational activities, training, consultations, screening. The project is a response to the expectations of employees in terms of improving ergonomic conditions in the unit. The current working conditions (equipment) differ significantly from the modern solutions recommended for this nature of work. The main results that will be achieved through the implementation of the project are: 1. Number of local government entities at district level that will improve working conditions – 1; 2. Number of employers supported for improving the working environment – 1; 3. Number of people who will improve working conditions in the SOSW by adapting the equipment of workstations with equipment and devices with higher ergonomic parameters than before – 46 ; 4. Number of people who will change attitudes and awareness about coping with stress and burnout – 46; 5. Number of people who realise the need for regular use of screening as an important factor in ensuring active and healthy ageing - 46; The target group to be covered by the project activities is the staff team of the Special Educational and School Centre in Varnin, i.e. 46 employees, 10 of whom have already reached 55 years of age (5 women and 5 men), representing 21.7% of the total team. The team consists of 38 women and 8 men. SOSW is an organizational unit of the Koszalin District, it does not have legal personality. Due to the fact that it is a local government unit at the district level, all employees have the status of local government employee / pedagogical staff is employed on the basis of the Teacher's Card. The project does not involve two people employed under civil contracts, as the end date of these contracts is 31.12.2024. The seat of the SOSW is located in the town of Varnino, away from the seat of the District (the leading authority by 20 km). The SOSW shall bear all costs related to the maintenance of the infrastructure of the unit. Employees perform their work in office conditions, teaching rooms, utility rooms and in the area adjacent to the facility. The school has 51 students in education and therapy. The centre provides round-the-clock care for 32 pupils requiring special care due to a frequently occurring coupled disability. Full budget accounting, personnel and payroll matters, public procurement, health and safety service, IT services and legal support for the unit are conducted by the Shared Services Centre of the Koszalin District. The applicant has planned four main tasks to be carried out under the project ‘Modern working conditions at the Special Educational Centre in Varnin’: 1. Prevention of workplace-related diseases – purchase of equipment and devices to improve work ergonomics; 2. Increased awareness among SOSW staff of health risk factors in the workplace – individual consultation with a physiotherapist; 3. Mental health prevention – workshops for workers on coping with stress and combating burnout. 4. Prevention of screening – individual outpatient and/or laboratory examinations, consultation of experts/occupational health professionals. The applicant did not receive funding under competition No: RPZP.06.08.00-IP.02-32-K73/22 under RPOWZ 2014-2020. Planned duration of the project: 01.03.2025r. – 31 August 2025
