Revitalization of the area of public space and development of the downtown section of the Avenue of the Polish Army in Szczecin

The subject of the project is comprehensive development of public spaces with small architecture and accompanying infrastructure, within fragments of streets: al. Polish Army, ul. Jagiellonska and ul. It's Silesian. The investment in question is located in the area of the spatial layout of the Szczecin City Centre, which is entered in the municipal and provincial register of monuments. Stages of the project: 1. obtaining an environmental decision; preparation of design and implementation documentation, obtaining the necessary approvals and permits (phase completed); 2. selecting the contractor for the task in accordance with the PZP Act; signature of the contract (phase completed); 3. implementation of the activities covered by the project, partial acceptance, conducting investor supervision (phase in progress); 4. completion of works, carrying out tests and acceptances, final acceptance of works, notification of construction supervision about the completion of construction, final settlement of the investment (stage not started). The project implements the specific objective of measure 7.1, i.e. it prevents adverse phenomena in the absence of sustainable urbanisation, as well as in the loss of socio-economic functions of the functional area of Szczecin. The project conforms to the type of project: ‘Support for cultural institutions and protection of cultural heritage.’ The implementation of the project will contribute to support the most important and urgent conservation tasks (indicated in the record sheet of the monument covered by the project), which include preserving and exposing the historical values of the spatial layout and development of the Śródmieście Szczecina district, which means maintaining the layout, historical cross-sections of streets, buildings and woodlands, and, if possible, original solutions in the field of: street and pavement surfaces, development of squares, replenishment of defects in tree plantings. The modernization of the area is carried out in accordance with the requirements for the historic spatial layout, with particular emphasis on the needs of residents and entrepreneurs, i.e. it is aimed at economic, social, cultural, environmental and tourist development. Whereas the space covered by the project: 1) it is accessible to everyone on an equal basis, free of charge, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, 2) it is one of the main arteries of Szczecin, used every day by residents of Szczecin and visitors, 3) it changes its nature as a result of the investment - from streets with high car traffic to the area where economic, social and cultural activities will be integrated, - there is no threat to the achievement of the result indicator "RCR077 Number of people visiting cultural and tourist facilities supported". 1) modernization of the surface of roads covered by the project and exits - without the construction of new roads, 2) elimination of parking spaces and bays in al.Wojska Polskiego on the pavements on both sides of one and their transfer to the middle part of the roadway (100% ineligible cost); 3) modernization of parking spaces in Jagiellońska Street and Śląska Street. The investment will not increase traffic volumes (description under "D" WoD). Information and publicity measures planned: 1. posting on the Applicant's website and on social media a description of the project, its objectives and results, highlighting the fact that it has received financial support from the EU; 2. providing information in a visible way (emphasising the fact that EU support has been received in communication documents and materials) on the implementation of the project; 3. placement of permanent 3 information boards and, after completion of the project, 3 commemorative plaques in a way that is clearly visible to the public. - in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 2021/1060 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 June 2021
