The subject of the project entitled ‘Construction of a fibre optic network in the Bieszczady, Lesko and Sanok districts’ is the construction of a modern fibre optic infrastructure that will provide residents of the Bieszczady, Lesko and Sanok districts with access to very high-speed Internet. As a result of the implementation of the project, in the areas of the so-called "white spots" will create a fibre network providing very high bandwidth above 300 Mbps with the possibility of increasing it to 1 GB/s. The project assumes the construction of broadband networks using a pole substructure (leased and own) and sewerage (own and leased). The areas where the project will be located are mainly rural and suburban areas, previously excluded digitally, without adequate infrastructure enabling the use of high-speed broadband Internet. They are unattractive and unprofitable for investors due to high risk and high investment costs. The project will cover 3216 address points (3551 dwellings, 1 entity and 581 enterprises). In addition, the applicant plans to implement its own investment in the amount of 90% of the designated amount. The project, by providing residents with access to very high-speed Internet, will level the playing field and reduce the distance between them and residents of large cities. The project is part of Measure FERC.01.01 ‘Increasing access to ultra-fast broadband internet’ and contributes to its implementation by providing residents of the counties of Przemyśl and the city of Przemyśl with universal access to high-quality telecommunications infrastructure, thus enabling the use of modern electronic communications services.
