Modern standards of training of specialist doctors in selected treatment specializations with particular use of innovative IT solutions

The project is a response to the lack of training standards for specialists in the Polish education system: practical skills in surgical specializations, in the scope related to the conduct of medical teams in emergencies during endoscopic examinations and procedures (CRM), in the field of propedeutics of robotics. Objective of the project: Increasing the effectiveness and standardization of training of improving specialist doctors using endoscopic simulation techniques in selected fields of medicine relevant to the tasks of the country's health policy by developing (in transnational cooperation) and applying innovative IT solutions within the extended Network of Endoscopic Simulation Centers. Main results: 1. 684 specialist doctors who have improved their qualifications by acquiring practical skills in the application of endoscopic diagnostic and therapy techniques; 2. 36 specialist doctors who have acquired CRM skills; 2. 22 instructors of endoscopic procedures and simulations, who have improved their qualifications by acquiring skills in the use of advanced simulation techniques in the training of specialist doctors 3. 1 set of innovative IT tools supporting the training and self-education of specialist doctors; Target groups: 1. 720 specialist doctors in selected medical treatment areas; 2. 22 instructors of endoscopic procedures and simulations conducting simulation training in the field of surgical skills. Tasks: 1. Development (in cooperation with a transnational partner) of innovative IT tools supporting the process of training specialist doctors in the use of endoscopic techniques; 2. Developing (in cooperation with a supranational partner) assumptions of standards of training and examination of doctors in the use of endoscopic techniques; 3. Developing the Network of Endoscopic Simulation Centers; 4. Testing a new solution in cooperation with a supranational partner; 5. Analysis of the effects of the tested solution (with the support of a supranational partner); 6. Development of recommendations and instructions for the implementation of the new solution; 7. Introduction to the system of training of specialist doctors in Poland CRM training Transnational partner: Tilburg Univerisity (Department of Management Tilburg School of Economics and Management). National partners: 1. Medical University of Gdańsk; 2. Medical University of Lodz; 3. Collegium Medicum of the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce. Duration of the project: 01.01.2024 – 30.06.2028 The project is in line with the ESF+.CP4.G specific objective “Fostering lifelong learning, in particular flexible upskilling and reskilling opportunities for all, taking into account entrepreneurial and digital skills, better anticipating change and new skills needs based on labour market needs, facilitating career transitions and supporting professional mobility”. It is addressed to adults - doctors specializing in surgical fields, who, thanks to participation in the project, will improve their qualifications by acquiring skills in the application of diagnostic techniques and endoscopic therapy. Specialist doctors, in training, usually have to participate in their free time, which limits their ability to improve their qualifications. The innovative IT training tools developed in the project (interactive applications with virtual reality elements) will allow you to optimize the time needed to participate in trainings, enabling you to perform some of the exercises at home. This will allow people who, due to professional and/or family obligations, would not be able to take part in long practical trainings to participate in the trainings.
