Key to the future - Comprehensive program of education development for the needs of key industries of the Jagiellonian University.

The main objective of the project (P) is to adapt the Jagiellonian University's offer to the needs of the development of the economy and the green and digital transformation by developing fields of study educating future staff for the needs of industries crucial for the development of the economy, i.e. renewable energy, agriculture and food industry, aerospace industry, transport (KD2). The project assumes the implementation of comprehensive support programs addressed to Jagiellonian University students and staff teaching at the Jagiellonian University in selected fields of KD2 (W.Philosophical, W. Chemistry, W. Geography and Geology, W. Biology, W. Physics, Astronomy and Applied Informatics, W. Law and Administration). The organisational units of universities carrying out activities under the project do not have, at the time of submitting the application, a negative assessment of the quality of education of the Polish Accreditation Commission in the fields where activities under the KD3 project will be carried out. In addition, among others, W. Chemistry educates students for the needs of the industry inscribed in the Małopolska RIS: chemistry, including in particular programmes aimed at implementing new chemical compounds, materials and technologies, including chemical engineering solutions, in health-related areas; agriculture, agri-food, wood and pulp and paper industries; biological and environmental chemistry; energy; natural raw materials; KP3 waste management. The main objective will be achieved through the implementation of the specific objectives of KD4: 1. creating new and modifying existing education programs in cooperation with employers, practitioners and entities operating in the socio-economic environment of the above-mentioned industries by integrating issues related to climate change, environmental aspects, renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable development; 2. implementation of additional elements of education, including practical elements increasing the competences of students; 3. implementation of actions aimed at reducing the phenomenon of early school leaving in the fields covered by the project activities; 4. development of competences of staff involved in the implementation of the education process, in the field of digital competences, skills for the green transition, universal design and others; The implementation of the specific objectives will be achieved through coherent and complementary TASKS against other project activities implemented in the Jagiellonian University, addressed to students and in parallel to academic teachers: - internships, trainings, study visits, additional classes conducted by practitioners) developing competences tailored to the needs of selected industries crucial for the development of the economy are planned for students; - internships and trainings developing digital competences, development of awareness and skills for the green transition and universal design, as well as in the field of entrepreneurship and commercialization of research results, didactic competences, including the use of modern didactic methods, education methodology, substantive competences, are planned for academic teachers. The implementation of new and modified education programmes will enable the Jagiellonian University to adapt education at university to the needs of key industries and at the same time will enable 1334 people (1185 Jagiellonian University students, 149 Jagiellonian University staff) participating in higher education to acquire or develop key competences, including entrepreneurial and digital skills. In addition, by creating new and modifying existing education programmes in selected faculties, the project will contribute to the specific objectives of the ERF, including improving the quality, social inclusion and effectiveness of education and training systems and their links with the labour market, including by validating non-formal and informal learning, in order to support the acquisition of key competences, and by supporting the introduction of dual training systems.
