Effective training of specialists for key industries.

The aim of the project is to increase and adjust the competences of 345 UPL students to the expectations of employers of key industries, i.e. renewable energy, transport, agriculture and the food industry by modifying education programs in accordance with the needs of the market, increasing the qualifications and competences of 34 people from teaching staff educating students, as well as implementing additional elements of practical education improving students' competences. Main results to be achieved through the implementation of the project: programs in three fields of study will be modified to meet the current needs of employers from key industries; -cooperation between the university and the socio-economic environment will be strengthened; -the staff implementing the didactic process will obtain new qualifications and competences; -students through participation in practical classes - trainings, internships, study visits and panels with employers - will acquire professional experience, get acquainted with the specifics of work in the industry; -actions aimed at conscious recruitment of candidates for studies, as well as compensatory classes in selected subjects limit the phenomenon of student outflow during education. The project will be implemented with a partner of ORLEN S.A. from the renewable energy industry (premium criteria no. 2). The partner was selected in accordance with the implementation law. As at the date of submitting the application, the University conducts formalized and documented cooperation, lasting over 12 months with employers from industries including the project in the field of practical elements of education, i.e. transport: Weremczuk FMR contract signed 05.04.2022, energy: Dynamic biogas - contract with dn. 14.04.2022, and PZZ Lubella GMW Sp. z o.o. from 25.10.2017. In addition, the direction of TŻIŻC has a stakeholder council composed of entrepreneurs and the social and economic environment. (cf. prem. 1) The project target group is addressed to two target groups: - students starting their studies at UPL in three calls, i.e. 2024/2025, 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 in directions: eco-energy (renewable energy industry), transport and logistics (transport industry) and food technology (agriculture and food industry) - university staff involved in the implementation of the education process in the three above-mentioned fields. The directions covered by the support are in line with the RIS of the Lubelskie Voivodeship (details in the justification under the budget) - prem. 3. The main tasks that will be carried out as part of the project: -modification of education programmes for three fields of study in key sectors for the economy in consultation with the socio-economic environment, purchase of infrastructure necessary for the implementation of modified education programmes (in terms of introducing more practical classes); -a support package improving the competences and qualifications of students, i.e. trainings, internships, study visits, panels with employers, practical classes; -a package of support to improve the competences and qualifications of the staff involved in teaching: training, study visits at home and abroad, -a program aimed at reducing the outflow of students in the course of education, i.e. compensatory classes and recruitment of informed candidates. All tasks create a comprehensive support program addressed to students and staff involved in didactics in the fields of study covered by the project. The implementation of the activities will allow to "supply" graduates with the latest knowledge and practical skills gained during the implementation of classes outside the basic program of study to the labour market. Broad support addressed to the teaching staff will allow this group of participants to increase their didactic, substantive or digital competences. Study visits to foreign universities and enterprises will allow the implementation of modern, foreign didactic and practical solutions to UPL, thanks to which the quality of dudactics will increase.
