Teaching-Engagment-Development (TED): Academic teachers and PhD students facing the challenges of the future.

The main objective of the project is to adapt the university's offer (activities) to the needs of the development of the economy and the green and digital transformation by integrating activities improving the qualifications and competences of 500 people. - the teaching staff of the applicant, as well as the competences and qualifications of 120 doctoral students [KD2]. Activities in the project will lead to obtaining or raising by the staff and doctoral students all of the following qualifications or competences: -didactic, -digital, -for the green transition [KD3]. Support will also be provided in the field of universal design, entrepreneurship and commercialization of the effects of scientific research and other substantive competences. The Jagiellonian University in its research and teaching mission, recognizing as one of the key aspects of improving the quality of education, the issue of developing didactic competences of staff and doctoral students, for years has been taking a number of diverse actions aimed at this goal. Systematically and comprehensively, in accordance with the strategy of the university aspiring to the position of a leader in didactic excellence, the substantive and didactic potential of the staff and doctoral students is strengthened. The current project is complementary to other university activities, including those undertaken in the University's Didactic Excellence project (implemented by MEIN from POWER) is a comprehensive extension related to the response to global needs resulting from the green transition and the need to improve the digital competences of society [KP1]. The tasks will be carried out through the organization of additional forms of support in the form of, among others, training, courses, study and internship trips, through which the following results will be achieved: a. acquisition and improvement of qualifications and competences of staff and doctoral students: - in accordance with the identified needs in specific areas of competence: didactic (use of modern methods of education, education in English), subject (methodology of education), social and personal through training, internships and study visits; - in the field of digital computing in accordance with the TPACK model, including those related to technologies, information and communication technologies; the didactic use of technology; the use of technology in subject teaching; the use of technology in research through training, internships and study visits; - on the green transition by exchanging examples of good practice, training, internships, study visits; - in the field of universal design through training aimed at: developing strategic solutions for the implementation of the idea of universal design in the university education space; preparation of the project of program changes (courses, modules, study programs) and other activities related to the implementation of the idea of universal design for learning; - in the field of entrepreneurship and commercialization of the results of scientific research and other substantive competences through trainings, workshops; b. changing the attitudes of staff and doctoral students towards their own professional development in the didactic role by providing teachers with individual, coaching support by a team of academic advisors conducting support hospitations and accompanying teachers through development confirmed by certificates; c. counteracting didactic failures of staff and doctoral students, significantly increasing their satisfaction with didactic work; d. increasing the awareness and responsibility of staff and doctoral students in identifying the teaching needs of students; difficulties related to failures, coping with stress, recognizing the prestige of an academic teacher and his unique role within the academic system. This will be achieved mainly through mentoring, which will include project participants and internships and study visits in foreign centers of recognized reputation (the first 100 QS ranking).
