The aim of the project is to improve the quality of education at the Silesian University of Technology within 2 years by improving the competences and/or qualifications of employees and doctoral students conducting didactics at the University. In order to ensure a high level of education in the higher education system, it is necessary to properly prepare the substantive and didactic staff involved in conducting didactics, carrying out classes with students, including doctoral students. The need to enrich the qualifications and competences of the staff results from constantly progressing changes, the evolution of knowledge and the need to adequately respond to, among others, climate change, the shrinking resources of the Planet, social and economic development, which translates into the expansionary progress of the so-called high-opportunity sectors (IT, energy). Adequately equipped with competences, the staff should have the latest knowledge and practical skills, as well as appropriate qualifications that will translate into the quality of student education, and thus the development of the economy, green and digital transformation, and ultimately into an increase in public awareness. As a response to the changes taking place, the Silesian University of Technology in recent years has introduced new or modified existing fields of study, which also causes that teaching staff faced new challenges related to the education of students and the need to fill the resulting competence gap. It should be emphasized that the two faculties of the CEE, until September 2023, are also implementing the pilot project Didactic Excellence. Therefore, the conclusions and effects of its implementation will be implemented, including in areas such as: procedures for diagnosing the needs of teaching staff in terms of expectations and barriers in improving the education process, procedures for assessing the quality of the teaching process, as well as the competences of employees conducting specific classes. The target group will be employees employed at the Silesian University of Technology in teaching and research-didactic positions and doctoral students educated at the Joint School of Doctors of the Silesian University of Technology, conducting classes with students, a total of 230 people. The main objective of the project is to improve qualifications and competences in the Target Group within the didactic area (including the use of modern didactic methods and education methodology), digital, for the green transition. The above scope of the project will be implemented within the defined Target Group through three interrelated and coherent tasks, which have been identified on the basis of the needs analysis carried out in VI 2023 and are in line with the adopted Development Strategy of the ENP for 2021-2026. It is planned to implement: Task 1. Training and courses in four defined areas. The task also includes 3 days of intensive training carried out as part of the innovative Summer School for the green and digital transformation, conducted on the basis of activating met. Zad.2 Postgraduate studies, including MBA, dedicated to highly specialized improvement of qualifications and competences of employees. Task 3. Domestic and foreign internships and study visits. Achieving the main objective through the implementation of the above tasks will create the conditions for the sustainable development of the ENP as: - a university investing in the excellence of education that adapts to the dynamic development of the economy, technology and society, while ensuring high-quality teaching; - an institution investing in human capital, improving the competences and qualifications of employees, while maintaining the principles of sustainable development. The above will contribute to the achievement of the strategic objectives adopted for the years 2021-2026 of the ENP, namely to support the individual professional development of employees and doctoral students and to ensure high-quality education. The result of the project in the form of qualifications and competences acquired by the project participants will be used directly in the current or future didactic or didactic-scientific activity.
