The main objective of the project is to financially support Polish entities of the higher education and science system in creating and/or maintaining international academic partnerships as a complement to the activities undertaken in the Erasmus+ programme related to the functioning of alliances of European Universities. This will be achieved through planned project activities, including: 1) announced calls for the new NAWA program (January 2024 and 2025), which will aim to develop sustainable solutions for didactic, scientific and implementation cooperation as part of membership in alliances of European universities; 2) implementation of the best assessed by external experts - proposals whose planned activities will result in the development of long-term cooperation within the alliance and fit into the development policy of the entity receiving support (hereinafter referred to as POW) and aim at: • maximising the chances of receiving funding in the European Universities Initiative (EUI) competition; • increase the scale of activities implemented in the Alliance by activities that are not feasible due to the limited budget allocated in the IEU competition; • new activities, additional initiatives, not funded by the Alliance and not included in the eligible EUI activities, or ideas for such activities developed in cooperation with the Allies; • increase the substantive value of projects implemented under the EUI; • POW participation in new EUI competitions; • implementation of selected, substantively valuable activities that were proposed as part of the application for funds in the EUI and received a positive assessment of the so-called EUI. Seal of Excellence, but cannot be implemented due to the exhaustion of allocations in the IUE competition; 3) creating a platform for cooperation at the operational level enabling effective sharing of knowledge gained in cooperation at the European level and multiplication of solutions developed by the allies. The actions planned by the PO should be synergistic and complementary to those undertaken under other European Union initiatives in the area of internationalisation and include comprehensive support to institutions in: • developing activities in support of international activities related to the building and maintenance of strategic academic partnerships and transnational alliances, including activities aimed at mobilising universities within European Universities; • developing and implementing cooperation with foreign partners based on long-term relations in the area of internationalisation; • capacity building for higher education and science actors in the international arena by promoting best practices and innovative solutions; • preparing tools or implementing actions to increase the number of existing partnerships or develop the effectiveness of existing cooperation in order to accelerate the transformation of higher education, such as joint education programmes, joint internationalisation strategies of the Alliance, micro-credentials. The effect of the implemented support will be: - preparation and implementation of solutions supporting the internationalization of Polish universities in all areas of their academic activity - new NAWA program offer; - strengthening the institutional capacity to build international partnerships - new universities applying for funding under the Erasmus+ European Universities Initiative (hereinafter EUI); - networking and networking within global universities - increasing the number of higher education and science institutions within the EUI.
