The aim of the intervention is to improve the competences and skills of management and transversal and substantive representatives and persons directly involved in the work of representative institutions of the higher education and science environment. This is also the main result of the project. It will be implemented through the organization of domestic and foreign development activities. The acquired competences and skills will be used by the representatives of the above-mentioned institutions to carry out the strategic tasks assigned to these institutions in the Law on Higher Education and Science. The main tasks of the project will be: 1. analysis of needs and development of the scope of development activities related to strengthening the competences and skills of representatives of institutions representing the environment of higher education and science, 2. organization and implementation of development activities improving the competences and management skills, transversal and substantive representatives of institutions representing the environment of higher education and science, 3. organization of short development activities of the nature of foreign trips. In the context of rapid changes in the socio-economic environment of universities and legal conditions, taking into account the opinion-forming nature of institutions representing the environment of higher education and science, it is necessary to further increase the competences of their staff. The field of higher education and science faces new challenges, such as changes in the size of the student population, the dynamically changing needs of stakeholders and the need for sustainable regional development, etc. The above considerations mean that the efficient and effective functioning of universities on the educational market requires flexible adaptation to changing conditions. In addition, in accordance with the basic strategic document in the field of higher education, i.e. the State Scientific Policy (point 1.2 of the PNP Tasks), there is a need to optimally use the potential of the higher education and science sector, including by: • prioritising the activities of universities, • optimising their funding, • continuously improving the quality of education and research. The implementation of the mission and strategic goals of individual universities presupposes that universities independently shape their own management rules. It is necessary to support effective and innovative solutions, including in the field of university management, taking into account the organizational and program autonomy of the university. This cannot be achieved without the support of representative institutions of the higher education and science environment, which, acting at the horizontal level, are able to diagnose and identify areas requiring change and propose effective mechanisms for implementing change. The implementation of the project will contribute to strengthening the competences and skills of representatives of these institutions, to preparing solutions at universities responding to challenges in higher education and science, and will contribute to the dissemination of good practices used in foreign universities. The topics of activities proposed under the project will in particular take into account the requirements and conditions resulting from the applicable legal regulations and strategic documents in the field of higher education and science. The project will contribute to the implementation of actions for the development of staff in the higher education and science system indicated in the Strategy for Responsible Development (direction of intervention - Better matching education and learning with the needs of the modern economy). The activities indicated in the SOR include the introduction of new solutions in the field of education process management and updating the competences of university staff, taking into account the need to combine more roles (teacher, leader, project coordinator, manager, mentor, academic supervisor, tutor).
