Developing competences in the area of logistics as a response to the changing needs of the labour market in the era of the challenges of the Green Deal and the digital transformation.

Changes in climate policy and a growing awareness of the importance of efficient supply chains mean that the logistics sector faces huge challenges. The need to cope with fleet management in 5G networks, the development of e-commerce and AI and machine learning are the most important of them. Knowledge of AI, new technologies, working in the cloud are becoming a necessity. Employers' expectations are growing, it becomes necessary to define new competences of employees of the TSL sector. Companies are paying more and more attention not only to hard skills (the ability to analyze risk, optimize inventory, plan continuity in the supply chain, knowledge of AI and process automation) but also soft, related to team management, self-management in change. According to the 2023 Occupational Barometer, there is a deficit in occupations related to the logistics industry in the Lower Silesian market. According to the ManpowerGroup "Talent Shortage" study, logistics workers are currently the most difficult to acquire gr. A shortage of workers means the need to increase education in shortage occupations in such a way that graduates are ready to enter the labour market. This effect is possible thanks to curricula prepared in cooperation with employers and vocational training aimed at acquiring skills and practical competences. The involvement of employers in this process is important because, according to the PARP Report "The situation of young people on the labour market from the perspective of SMEs", most employers indicate lack of experience as a barrier to youth employment (62.2%) and a mismatch between education and needs, i.e. lack of knowledge (even general knowledge), gaps in technical knowledge (25.3%). The draft provides for: 1.Modification of the curriculum in the field of logistics and creation of 3 new specialties (2ed.starting from the academic year 2025/2026): a)CYFRIZATION OF LOGISTICS SYSTEMS b)SUSTAINABLE LOGISTICS OF TRADE AND DISTRIBUTION c)SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN THE LOGISTICS OF THE FUTURE 2.Establishment of a team of educators of teaching programs using VR in education (purchase of hardware and software) allowing the use of modern technologies in teaching work and education methodology. 3. Improving the competences of students and lecturers, especially in the area of green, digital and universal design competences through participation in trainings, study visits, etc. 4. Organisation of traineeships for 80 full-time students 5. Taking measures to reduce the phenomenon of early school leaving (e.g. organization of compensatory classes, demonstration lessons organized in schools aimed at recruiting people determined to continue learning in the field of logistics). The analysis of smart specializations indicates that logistics services are a particularly important area of development. This means that innovations in this area affect the development of the region, and thus indicate that logistics has extraordinary development potential, which is applicable in various areas listed in the Regional Smart Specializations defined in the Lower Silesian Innovation Strategy: Area 2. AUTO-MOTO-AERO-SPACE, Area 4. MACHINERY AND DEVICES, Area 5. ‘Green Deal’, Area 6 ‘INDUSTRY 4.0’, including in particular points 6.2.1.Technologies in services to automate customer service processes and provide services, regardless of industry. Thanks to the modification/creation of new teaching methods, graduates will have the knowledge to work in logistics, use the latest technologies and information systems. The project is addressed to a total of 220 students and 16 academic staff. It will be implemented in compliance with the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU of 26.10.2012 and the Convention on the Rights of the SA, signed in New York on 13.12.2006.
