The main goal of the project is to develop and implement at the Silesian University of Technology (PŚ) until 31.05.2029 a comprehensive program of support for the education process in the fields of studies implemented for the development of the economy and the green and digital transformation in the areas of emerging industries, energy, industrial production, material engineering, management and the TSL industry (transport, forwarding, logistics). The directions covered by the support (e.g. nuclear energy, nanotechnology, aerospace engineering) are part of the areas of smart specialization of the Silesian Voivodeship, i.e. energy, information and communication technologies, the green economy and emerging industries included in the Silesian RSI 2030 KP2. The main objective will be achieved through specific objectives: 1) Modernization of education in many fields of I and II studies in order to better prepare them to meet the challenges of the modern economy and the needs of the green and digital transformation; 2) Implementation of additional measures aimed at reducing early school leaving for students in supported educational fields for the development of the economy; 3) Increasing the competences and gaining the qualifications of 250 employees of PŚ taking part in education in supported directions; 4) Improvement of competences and acquisition of qualifications by 1100 PŚ students in supported faculties. The specific objectives will be achieved through the implementation of 10 tasks: Tasks 1-6: modification of existing education programs in cooperation with employers, practitioners, in the fields covered by the support. Task 7: implementation of actions aimed at reducing early school leaving in supported faculties. Task 8: development of competences and qualifications of teaching staff involved in the implementation of education in supported fields. Task 9: implementation of additional elements of education in supported fields, including practical elements, increasing the competences of students: internships, courses/trainings, study visits (including abroad), additional activities conducted by practitioners. Task 10: indirect costs. The project covers all the above-mentioned activities forming a comprehensive support program, implemented in the fields of study covered by the KD3 support. The implementation of the project will contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set out in the 2030 Agenda at the 2015 UN Summit and is in line with the 2021-2026 Development Strategy of the World Bank for the following strategic objectives: - Ensuring high-quality graduate education (...), based on research and innovation, in cooperation with (...) industrial partners; - Supporting the individual scientific and professional development of employees (...); - Increasing the internationalisation of science and education in cooperation with (...) leading research centres and business entities. The participants of the project will be only students of the 1st and 2nd degrees covered by the support in the project: Energy, Safety Engineering, Nuclear Energy, Materials Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation and Robotics, Industrial Mechatronics, Mechanics and Machine Building, Mechanics and Machine Building (dual studies), Production and Management Engineering, Materials Engineering and Technologies, Aerospace Engineering, Nanotechnology, Management, Project Management, Business Analytics, Production Management and Engineering, Logistics, Transport, Rail Transport and staff involved in the implementation of the education process in these fields KD5. The key results of the project will be the acquisition of competences and/or qualifications by 1350 people participating in higher education thanks to the support of the ESF+ and obtaining the status of an entity of the higher education and science system by the PŚ, which adapted education to the needs of the development of the economy and the green and digital transition.
