Support for the creation and implementation of international education programmes

The main objective of the project is to: ● improving the quality of education by supporting the entities of the higher education and science system in the creation and implementation of international study programmes and intensive international forms of education; ● increasing the attractiveness of Polish universities among students, doctoral students, doctoral students and academic staff from abroad through the development of the program offer in foreign languages. The NAWA survey conducted in 2016 on a sample of 2,660 foreigners shows that the most important advantage for those who decide to complete their studies in Poland is the opportunity to study in an EU country, international recognition of a Polish diploma and good career prospects after graduation. The acquisition of foreigners remains a major challenge, especially for second-cycle education and doctoral schools. An important element of the planned intervention is therefore stimulating the university to create an offer of programs and studies in foreign languages and systemic support for the target group of the project in the creation and implementation of international education programs. As a result of the evaluation and consultation of NAWA's programme offer and systemic evaluations of cohesion policy, the main barriers to the development of internationalisation have been identified. One of the most frequently mentioned obstacles in the internationalization process by universities and institutes, apart from the lack of financial resources, was the insufficient program offer of Polish universities in foreign languages (the offer in foreign languages contributes to the recognition on the global market that most universities of the 21st century aspire to). In addition, universities indicated: insufficient innovativeness of curricula - skills gaps in teaching using innovative methods - insufficient participation of students/doctoral students from abroad. The development of the didactic offer in the field of international forms of education is a response to changing challenges and trends, which in turn are a result of needs and barriers: ● remote learning ● blended learning (integrated, hybrid) ● open online courses (MOOCs) ● virtual mobility ● joint or multiple diplomas ● micro-credentials and short forms of education ● participation of foreign lecturers ● creation and implementation of forms of education in foreign languages. The aim of the project will be implemented by financing the activities of Polish higher education and science institutions indicated in Article 7.1 of the Act on Higher Education and Science (hereinafter referred to as POW), related to the development of the internationalization of higher education, i.e.: preparation of teaching staff for the implementation of international education programs (hereinafter referred to as MPK) - implementation of MPK - recruitment of MPK participants - payment of scholarships for people participating in MPK - verification of learning outcomes - development of innovative tools and methods of education - organization of adaptation, integration, language and intercultural trainings with the participation of MPK participants - creation of MPK in cooperation with foreign partners - dissemination of information about the planned launch of MPK; Networking and establishing cooperation. The proposed support for the development of the educational offer assumes: ● increasing the competence of the staff to create or implement international education programs; ● institutional preparation and introduction to the institution's offer of programs that increase its attractiveness on the international market; ● increasing the participation of foreigners in the Polish higher education system. It also offers the opportunity to educate and work with people from abroad, in line with the concept of "internationalisation at home". As a result, it will deepen mutual understanding, multilingualism, personal and professional development. The inclusion of remote and mixed forms of education in the curriculum will open the way to internationalisation for people who, for various reasons, have limited mobility opportunities.
