The aim of the project is to support Polish universities in the process of obtaining accreditation, re-accreditation and quality certificates of education. Financial support will be directed to Polish universities applying for international accreditation, re-accreditation or quality certificate of the university, field of study, etc. In justified cases, based on the analysis of the needs of the university, it will also be possible to finance other certificates if the university demonstrates how this will affect the quality of education and internationalization. The benefits of obtaining foreign accreditation, re-accreditation or quality certificate of education will make universities strive to renew the obtained accreditation for the next period (accreditations are granted for a period of up to 6 years) and continue efforts to expand the range of accreditations or quality certificates of education held by international accreditation/certification institutions. This involves further efforts on the part of the university, aimed, for example, at improving the functioning of the university in the form of organizational changes or improving the quality of education through further improvement of study programs. The benefits of supporting the processes of obtaining foreign accreditation, re-accreditation or quality certificates of education by Polish universities in the area of internationalization are more widely listed in the Experience section. Financial support to Polish universities, including expenses related to the accreditation procedure, may be allocated in particular to: a fee for membership in a given accreditation/certification body, a fee for participation in the accreditation/certification process, the costs of visiting members of accreditation/certification committees, the costs of organising accreditation seminars jointly with international accreditation organisations at Polish universities, the costs of participation in conferences, seminars, meetings required by the accreditation/certification procedure, etc. The types of costs and their amount can be different. They depend on the type of foreign accreditation, re-accreditation or quality certificate of education applied for by the university, as well as on the requirements imposed on the university by the accreditation or certification institution during the process of obtaining foreign accreditation, re-accreditation or quality certificate of education. The main tasks of the project are updating the catalogue of accreditations and quality certificates and identifying the university's needs in terms of obtaining accreditations and foreign certificates, preparing the recruitment procedure, evaluating and selecting the best applications and implementing the offers selected for co-financing. The target group is described in the Target groups section. The planned intervention is a continuation of support for the processes of obtaining foreign accreditations by Polish universities carried out as part of the non-competitive project of the Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development entitled: Foreign accreditations. The main effect of the implementation of this project is the granting of foreign accreditation, re-accreditation or certificates of quality of education to Polish universities.Their granting is associated with confirmation by foreign accreditation/certification institutions, among others, of high quality education meeting foreign quality standards or the readiness of the Polish university team for a new didactic and organizational approach. The persistence at the system level will be ensured by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education making, outside the project, at the final stage of the project implementation under the financial perspective for 2021-2027, an analysis of the effects of support and taking actions to introduce a mechanism of national support for obtaining foreign accreditations and certificates of quality of education. One of the ways may be to include relevant provisions in the updated State Scientific Policy (in accordance with Art. 3 of the Act on Higher Education and Science it is subject to evaluation at least once every 5 years).cdn.
