The aim of the project is to achieve high-quality, territorially accessible and affordable childcare at national level and to further advance towards the Barcelona target, in line with the objectives set out in Annex 2 to the FERS Programme. As indicated in Annex 2 to the Programme, there are still insufficient childcare places in Poland for children up to the age of 3, which translates into a more difficult situation for parents - especially women who want to return to professional activity. Insufficient number of places of care means that women often give up this activity, thus increasing inactivity rates among women in Poland. The activities of this project (creation of childcare facilities for children up to the age of 3) are therefore a response to the gender equality barrier of ‘insufficient nursery/pre-school care system’ identified in the Guidelines on Equality Principles 2021-2027 and respond to the requirement to plan equality activities as a minimum standard. In the case of care institutions receiving support, equality actions are indicated in the Toddler+ programme. During the implementation of the project, the beneficiary will ensure that support in the form of childcare in crèches, children's clubs and day caregivers will be provided without any discrimination on the grounds set out in Article 9 of the General Regulation and Article 21 of the Charter and Article 5 of the CRPD, in particular, will be available to children or their carers with disabilities, in accordance with the relevant accessibility standards set out in Annex 2 to the Guidelines on the implementation of equality principles under the EU funds for 2021-2027, in line with the scope of support. Thanks to this, the project will have a positive impact on the principle of equal opportunities and non-discrimination, as well as comply with the anti-discrimination rules resulting from the Charter and the Convention.
