The University responsible for the implementation and supervision of the project is the Medical University of Gdańsk. The project will be implemented in partnership with the Institute of Regional Development Foundation. The aim of the project is to improve accessibility at the University in eight areas - organizational structure, architectural accessibility, information and communication accessibility, digital accessibility, technologies, procedures, services supporting education and disability awareness raising activities. The main results of the project will be: -increasing the level of accessibility of universities in various areas (including education, architecture, information and communication and digital), -extending the offer of support for people with special needs, - taking into account the needs of NSAs (persons with disabilities) in procedures applicable at the university, -increasing awareness and knowledge of the university staff regarding the functioning and needs of people with disabilities and special needs. Raising awareness of disability will have a positive impact on changes within university structures. In addition, for the environment, in particular for candidates for studies, it will be a signal that GUMed is open to people with special needs. As part of the preparation for the project, barriers in the area of university accessibility were identified and needs were identified based on them. Particular emphasis will be placed on removing the barrier related to under-awareness of staff about the functioning of the OZN. This will be achieved, inter alia, by training staff and organising study visits. The number of participants in the project was estimated at 21% of the GUMed staff and divided proportionally according to the gender distribution structure in the group of all employees.
