The aim of the project is to increase the accessibility and the level of inclusiveness and universality of the University of Silesia in the period 01.03.2025-28.02.2029 [KD7], by eliminating barriers to the use of the educational offer and creating an academic environment friendly to TSOs / NSAs. The goal will be achieved through the implementation of comprehensive tasks in eight areas of accessibility and the implementation of system solutions by introducing changes: 1. ORGANISATIONAL AND PROCEDURAL - allowing for systematization of the University's accessibility management 2. INFRASTRUCTURAL AND INSTITUTIONAL, taking into account the development of inf. - communes, digital and modern technologies, strengthening the access of TSOs/TSOs to the resources and offer of the University of Silesia. 3. COMPETENCE related to the improvement of competences of KK, KA and KD and the promotion of universal design in higher education. 4. CONSCIOUS about increasing the level of awareness of the entire academic community (including students and doctoral students) in the field of disability, special needs through, for example: organisation of an INKLUWeek (adaptation week) co-organised by TSOs/NSAs as ‘self-lawyers’. Disability awareness activities The activities are in line with Annex 1 of the "Evaluation Charter" [KD4] GD: UŚ as an entity directly benefiting from ESF Plus support and: • University staff, including KK, KA, KD, called UP1 • Representatives of student self-government and other organizations associating students and doctoral students called UP2. Number of persons concerned: 900. DIRECT RESULTS: Increased social competence and awareness. (UP1 and UP2) in the context of barriers faced by TSOs/NSAs, specificities/methods/tools for creating inclusive and accessible environments, including universal education design. Competences will be acquired through basic training and awareness-raising initiatives and specialised training. In addition, raising: • Advanced competence in accessibility management – KK, • Specialised competence related to the scope of duties and the specificity of work in a given Unit – KK and KA, • Competence related to the provision of accessible teaching – KD, • Awareness and ways of creating an inclusive and open environment – UP1 and UP2. At the same time, the project supports the technological, digital and communication development of the university, creating it more accessible, but also more innovative, technologically developed and competitive. LONG-TERM RESULTS: ensuring that TSOs/TSOs can take advantage of the offer of higher education, where infrastructure and processes (including teaching) are available to all, ensuring equal opportunities and integration of TSOs/TSOs. The implementation of the activities planned in the project fits into both the social and economic context, by reducing the marginalisation of TSOs/NSAs and supporting their participation in social and professional (profit) life. In addition, by increasing educational equality and creating conditions for an open environment, the university activates TSOs/NSAs from a variety of backgrounds, including local, often neglected post-industrial areas of Upper Silesia, which in turn is a priority in the ongoing energy transition process and gives the opportunity to improve the quality of life of people from marginalized environments.
