Available UG 2.0

The aim of the project is to increase the level of accessibility of the University of Gdańsk (UG) for students, doctoral students and employees with disabilities and special needs by implementing comprehensive solutions focused on changes in the following areas: organisational structures; availability of architects; communication and information; digital and technology; development of educational support services; management (implementation and updating of regulations and procedures and taking awareness-raising actions concerning the disabled). RESULT: improving the competences of UG staff, students, doctoral students in the fields of inclusive education and accessibility of tertiary education, implementing solutions to eliminate the identified barriers to accessibility. TARGET GROUP (GD): university and 1800 (1116K, 684M) employees (1032K, 633M) including staff of BON and representatives of institutionalization of student structures (84K, 51M) UG (Area 8). The project foresees REAL TASKS for 48 months (KD 7), which will improve the availability of the UG in 8 areas and comply with the requirements of the ‘Description of the Development+ Path’ (KD5): 1. Structure of Organizations. – Recruitment of qualified staff: 2 consultants, access specialist, consultant/psychologist, creation of an Accessibility Team Equalization of Educational Opportunities, which will include representatives of UG units. Cooperation with academia centres in Poland and abroad is planned (8 study visits, as well as the reception of representatives of various universities in the University of Gdańsk). 2. Availability of Architects. – installation of staircase platforms, replacement of passenger lifts, construction of shafts and installation of new lifts, adaptation of 2 toilets for OzN to comfort standards, installation of tactile plans, preparation, publication on the website of information on the availability of architects. all facilities carrying out the activity of the director and creation of a comprehensive plan for the removal of architects' barriers in the above-mentioned facilities. 3. Information and communication accessibility - it is planned to ensure the possibility of communication with employees of the UG in an accessible form, organization of accessible events by guaranteeing, among others, services such as: videotranslator, PJM translator and live subtitles, preparation and publication of information about the information and communication accessibility of all devices and technologies located in UG facilities. 4. Digital Availability - Access 6 UG websites, monitoring of all 11 websites to the current requirements of WCAG, creating an application to generate adaptation of the education process. It foresees the development and adoption of a digital accessibility standard and the development of a comprehensive barrier removal plan. 5. Technological accessibility, including the purchase of: Braille printer, stationary enlargers and mobile wheelchairs. 6. Availability of procedures – setting up a procedure development team, responsible for drafting and updating the legal acts of the UG. 7. Services supporting education, research and recruitment for studies – involvement of specialist staff tasked with assisting NSAs and specific needs in the education process. through adaptation of teaching materials, support for assistants/library libraries and IT, adaptation of sports activities to the needs of employees/children with disabilities. and specific needs. 8. Awareness-raising activities for people with disabilities. – organisation of 111 training specialists for staff and administrators. UG and 9 trainings for representatives of institutionalization of UG student structures, in order to improve knowledge and skills in the field of accessibility. The project will be implemented in partnership with the Institute for Regional Development Foundation (FIRR), which has extensive experience in: - the area of support and GD, - the implementation of numerous trainings in the area of accessibility - publications on the subject of disability. Cooperation with FIRR will be an added value of the project, which cannot be achieved in the case of self-implementation of the project.
