Club of Digital Opportunities

As part of the project implementation in 2025-2029, free educational activities for children (mainly girls) will be held in the field of programming, robotics, AI, online safety, among others. The innovativeness of the project concept consists in combining direct support for children with the promotion of the so-called Children's Initiative. the role model for women in the ICT sector, overcoming stereotypes about the perception of certain professions as male or female, reaching out to children at an age when educational choices are still being shaped, including awareness-raising activities for parents and teachers. The project will build on the experience (scaling) of the ‘IT for SHE Kids’ programme. Objectives of the project: • To support children in developing skills in new technologies. • Promoting roles and role models for women as IT experts. • Supporting and exploiting the social potential of women. Developing their competences in the direction of sharing knowledge and experiences, creating attitudes that are a role model. • Breaking stereotypes about professions perceived as masculine or feminine, as well as disadvantaged people, including from smaller towns. • Equalising educational opportunities between small urban centres and rural areas and larger urban centres. The classes will be conducted by specially trained students of ICT faculties of technical universities and other universities in Poland (public and non-public). Min. 400 unique people/5 years old. Assumption: reaching 20,000 inhabitants (at least 70% of all), including rural and urban-rural municipalities, with an educational offer. Cities of up to 100,000 inhabitants are also taken into account, with limited access to additional activities (max. 30% of all). Target group: pupils from grades IV-VIII of subst. (17,000 people/5 years old). We will mainly encourage girls to participate in the project, stressing that they can successfully deal with technological topics and exact sciences. Several days of classes will be held during the holidays and holidays. Weekend (one-day) classes are also planned - in October, as part of the European Code Week (CodeWeek). During the next editions of CodeWeek (during the KCM project) educational events promoting the objectives of the project were planned. E-learning courses for ICT students will also be prepared. Actions are also planned for parents and teachers to help children and young people choose their career path. The main tasks are: • Preparation of the educational offer, recruitment and training of female students • Organisation of summer/offer workshops for pupils, including their recruitment • Event promoting the CodeWeek initiative and workshops • Attitude-building – materials for parents and teachers. The role model aspect will be highlighted in each of the tasks, including: - Involvement of female students who have chosen an ICT-related career path. - Preparation by the students of a lesson scenario according to their own idea (implementation of a role model). - Maintaining a gender ratio of 60:40 in workshop groups – at least 60% of girls. - Promote attitudes that encourage further ICT-related educational choices. - Participation in a women's workshop - an ICT hospitality - to promote the choice of educational and professional paths in this field. - Examples of women in ICT in course scenarios, educational mats for students, parents and teachers, e-learning courses, webinars. - Key recipients of the message in recruitment: parents and guardians of girls (mother encouraging to enroll daughters in classes). - Section on women in ICT on the project portal. Durable effect: equipping students with ICT knowledge and tools, arousing interest in the subject and inspiring young people and their parents to consider such an educational path.
