The section of provincial road No 925 planned for reconstruction runs from the border of the town of Ruda Śląska (km 14+377) to the border of the town of Rybnik (km 38+362). The investment is located in communes: Mikołów, Ornontowice, Orzesze, Czerwionka-Leszczyny in Mikołów and Rybnik districts. The planned provincial road is an important connection of a supra-regional nature. It connects the A1 motorway, which is part of the trans-European transport network (TEN-T), leading traffic from the border crossing in the Czech Republic, towards important points in the Silesian agglomeration. The reconstructed road will improve the capacity and flow of traffic on the road connecting the basic elements of the TEN-T network – the A1 and A4 motorways. The road through the junction ‘Rybnik’ with the A1 motorway lies on the following transport routes: A1 motorway direction Czechia – Katowice via DK-81 , A1 motorway direction Czechia – A4 motorway. The A4 motorway forms part of the Germany-Poland TEN-T network, the A1 motorway towards Czechia – national road No 44 Gliwice-Mikołów, the A1 motorway towards Warsaw – Rybnik, Racibórz, Czechia. In addition, by connecting provincial road No. 925 with the A1 motorway, a better connection with the Katowice - Pyrzowice International Airport will be ensured. At the same time, the reconstruction of the provincial road will improve the transport traffic of the region, constituting an important connection, among others: with adjacent industrial, commercial and service facilities. In addition, in the direct and further distance of the A1 motorway, there are investment places with the possibility of creating intermodal terminals/logistics centres (in particular areas in Bełk and Stance). The scope of the project includes the reconstruction of the road on Class G parameters together with a complete replacement of the surface structure, in order to adapt to the traffic of vehicles with a permissible single driving axle weight of up to 11.5 tonnes. The investment includes, among others: correction of road geometry, reconstruction and construction of pavements and sidewalks with the admission of bicycle traffic.
