The helping hand

The aim of the project will be to increase equal and quick access to good quality, sustainable and affordable social services - care services - provided in the created Senior Club and through neighbouring care services, in the period from 01.10.2024 to 30.09.2026. The project is addressed to a total of 25 residents of the Municipality of Świerklaniec, including 18 K and 7 M. The participants of the project are people in need of support in everyday functioning, including 14 people (11 k and 3 M) with disabilities, and extending the support offer of the Social Assistance Centre in Świerklaniec to their individual needs, potential and personal preferences will counteract their loneliness and marginalization, which in particular will be implemented in the Senior Club. The project will be implemented in the Commune of Świerklaniec, i.e. in four villages: Świerklaniec, Nakło Śląskie, Walnut and Nowe Chechło. The main tasks of the project are: 1. organization of the Senior Club and organization of classes for seniors, including: increasing their social activity, health-promoting activities, specialist counselling or organization of going to the cinema and theatre; 2. provision of neighbourly care services for people in need of support in everyday functioning. The Senior Club created as part of the project will be a new club, there is no such facility in the Municipality. It is planned to create a place to spend time together for 15 people. The project is addressed to people in need of support in everyday functioning, including people with disabilities, living in the Commune of Świerklaniec, who will be the recipients of the activities under the project and will be addressed to them with information and promotion activities. In the first place, the project activities will be directed to OPS clients supported by a family assistant. Information and promotion activities will inform about the purpose of the project, about planned activities to be implemented and about the method of financing the project. As part of the activities, posters will be placed in places designated for this purpose, while leaflets will be distributed in the municipal units of Świerklańca, including in OPS and the Municipal Office and handed over by social workers to potential project participants. In May 2024, the website of UG Świerklaniec and OPS in Świerklaniec will include information on planned activities and will indicate the value of co-financing and their sources. Participants will be informed about the application of equal opportunities between women and men and the accessibility of the project for people with disabilities. During the implementation of the project, information on the implemented project, including current activities, will be prepared and published on UG and OPS social media on an ongoing basis. The promotional materials of the project will be posters, leaflets and stickers with logos.
