As part of the project, it is planned to modernize and build infrastructure and purchase equipment for the establishment of the Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Hydrogen Technologies (COZEiTW) in Rybnik. The new research unit will be part of the branch of the Silesian University of Technology - Centre for Continuing Education in Rybnik. As part of the project, four components of the new research centre will be created: 1.Center of Competence of Renewable Energy Sources and Hydrogen Technologies (CKOZEiTW) - located at ul. Kościuszki 54 2.Laboratory of Hydrogen Technologies (LTW) - located at ul. Rudzka 13 3.Eko - Dom Energia (LEDE) Laboratory - located at ul. Rudzka 13 4.Mobile Laboratory of Photovoltaic Panel Diagnostics (MLDPF) The main goal of the project is to support the research and development of the just transition process in the region, aimed at achieving the EU's energy and climate goals. The activities and results of research on RES and hydrogen technologies generated by COZEiTW will be important for the entire region. Research on specific issues of production, storage and industrial use of low-cost, zero-emission renewable energy, including ‘green hydrogen’, is key to identifying possible pathways for an effective regional, largely industrial, economy currently largely based on fossil energy, which already negatively affects the competitiveness of many industries and may even prevent many players from operating on the market in the near future. Given the nature of this unprecedented challenge, research activities in the project area and the subsequent dissemination of the knowledge gained will certainly be one of the factors influencing the selection of the optimal energy transition pathway by individual regional SMEs in the coming years. Information and promotion activities will be carried out from the moment of receiving co-financing, i.e. signing the co-financing agreement, on the basis of the principles described in the "Manual of the applicant and beneficiary of European funds for 2021-2027 in the field of information and promotion" and the "Guide for beneficiaries of the FE SL 2021-2027" . As part of the activities, it is primarily planned to place a permanent information and/or commemorative plaque in a visible place. In addition, it is planned to mark all documents related to the implementation of the project accordingly. Information about the project will also be available on the website of the Silesian University of Technology meeting the MA’s requirements, as well as on social media. As part of the information and promotion activities, it is also planned to organise a press briefing at the end of the project, during which the activities carried out under the project will be presented. https://www.polsl.pl/e-politechnika/
