Development of distributed energy based on renewable energy sources in the City of Tarnowskie Góry, the Municipality of Bobrowniki and the Municipality of Świerklaniec

The project ‘Development of distributed energy based on renewable energy sources in the City of Tarnowskie Góry, the Municipality of Bobrowniki and the Municipality of Świerklaniec’ is implemented in a partnership of three municipalities. It includes three main tasks that significantly affect the achievement of the objectives indicated in the Project: 1. granting grants for the purchase, supply and installation of RES installations generating heat and electricity for social and living needs and energy storage, 2. an educational campaign consisting of various activities affecting the formation of pro-ecological attitudes among residents, 3. pro-ecological activities that have a significant impact on the achievement of environmental objectives set out in the European Green Deal. The project provides for a total of 1667 units of RES installations and 843 units of electricity and heat storage. The project will result in a reduction in CO2 emissions of at least 8068,0069 tonnes CO2-equivalent/year. The project is a response to the problems of the Silesian Voivodeship identified in the Silesian Development Strategy "Śląskie 2030" Zielone Śląskie. It was pointed out that the main cause of poor air quality is emissions from individual heating of residential buildings, and improving air quality is a key challenge for the voivodship. The project responds to the challenges faced by municipalities fulfilling: socio-economic functions, with environmental problems, in the mining transition, for which the challenge is to focus support on improving the quality of the environment. The development of distributed energy will contribute to improving the air quality of the Bytom and Sosnowiec subregions, increasing the share of renewable energy in the overall energy balance of municipalities, reducing pollution, improving the health and economic situation of residents, as well as shaping pro-ecological attitudes. Information and promotion activities will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Guide for Applicants and Beneficiaries of European Funds for 2021-2027 in the field of Information and Promotion and the Guide for Beneficiaries of FE SL 2021-2027.
