Full of Life Factory – transformation centre, stage I

The project is an element of the implementation of the strategy of the City of Dąbrowa Górnicza regarding the removal of degraded areas located in its downtown from the crisis state. The area after the former Defum machine tool factory, located in the vicinity of the new communication center at the Dąbrowa Górnicza railway station, will be given new city and centrifugal functions. This place will be an important centre of social activity using tools important for the sustainable development of cities based on the identity of the place and social expectations. The subject of the project is the revitalization of the H8/B7 building with a total area of 1 726.28 m2 together with a green surface constituting a public space. The project concerns the full restoration of the building and the surrounding public spaces. The construction works will include, among others, the reconstruction of existing facilities while maintaining their industrial character, works related to internal installations and the construction of the so-called green and blue infrastructure. It is also planned to purchase equipment. The project uses the historical potential of the place to develop and implement social and urban projects, tailor-made, incubated and adequately supported. These solutions will be unique on a national and European scale. The Applicant's ambition is to create good practices in this area in order to implement and popularize them. This is one of the elements of the project, which proves its value on the scale of the entire region. The project is addressed to 60,000 people, primarily residents of the region, who already, to a limited extent, benefit from the Applicant's activities. The unique character of the project, combining social goals with the competences of urban space development, makes it a model example of the implementation of the New European Bauhaus idea. Promotion and information activities will be carried out in accordance with the principles of respect for the natural environment, and promotion and information will be primarily implemented through modern methods using social media, a website and direct presentations at the place of project implementation. The applicant will launch a tab on its website informing about the project, its scope, objectives, effects and its impact on the just transition process in the region. In view of the European outreach of the project, this information will be translated into English. In order to make the content available to visually impaired people, the WCAG 2.1 standard will be used. Information on the co-financing of the project from European funds will also be included on the information board, in accordance with the standards set out in the ‘Handbook on information and publicity for applicants and beneficiaries of European Funds 2021-2027’. According to the handbook, two promotional events will be organised: 1 press conference for the start of the project, 1 event for residents at the end of the implementation and putting the space into use. Information and promotion activities will be documented, all documentation marked in accordance with the standards set out in the above-mentioned manual. Activities will be carried out on an ongoing basis, from the signature of the contract to the end of the durability period. https://fabrykapelnazycia.eu
