The scope of the project includes the establishment of the Silesian Interdisciplinary Chemistry Centre (ŚICCH). SICCH will be created in a newly built and equipped facility as part of the project. The implementation of the project is a component of a larger concept of universities, which is the launch of the Green Science Zone - a horizontal undertaking that meets the needs resulting from the Just Transition, which will contribute to mitigating its effects in three areas: -economic, -social, -environmental. The economic transformation of the region associated with the extinction or significant transformation of entire industries forces the gradual updating of knowledge and the acquisition of new skills, competences or qualifications by residents and employees of mining subregions. Due to the close link between higher education (practical and vocational) and the transformation of the region, it is of utmost importance to take measures to improve the quality of education in order to adapt it to the current needs of the labour market, the challenges of the digital transformation and the transition towards a green economy and smart and technological specializations of the region., which will allow to educate the future workforce and create new economic areas in the transformed region. The implementation of the project is therefore a response to the socio-economic changes taking place in the region. The aim of the project is to improve the conditions of higher education through the creation of SICCH, which will translate into the development of a society with high professional qualifications sought on the labour market and the creation of new professions. The applicant will carry out information and promotion activities in accordance with the requirements of the General Regulation, the Guidelines on information and promotion of European funds for 2021-2027 and in accordance with the Visual Identity Book of the European Funds 2021-2027 brand. As part of the project, it is planned to: - installation of an information and commemorative plaque (the plaque will be mounted on the building of the newly created SICCH), - organization of two press conferences - the first at the beginning of the investment and the second at the end of the investment. Representatives of the Management Board of the Silesian Voivodeship and the European Commission will be invited to participate in these events.
