The scope of the project includes the creation of the Centre for Biotechnology and Biodiversity (CBB). CBB will be created in a newly built and equipped facility as part of the project. The implementation of the project is a component of a larger concept of universities, which is the launch of the Green Science Zone - a horizontal undertaking that meets the needs resulting from the Just Transition, which will contribute to mitigating its effects in three areas: economic, social, environmental. The economic transformation of the region associated with the extinction or significant transformation of entire industries forces the gradual updating of knowledge and the acquisition of new skills, competences or qualifications by residents and employees of mining subregions. The project will result in the creation of an optimal and modern infrastructure for education and competence building in disciplines in the fields of science and natural sciences, engineering and technical sciences, as well as medical sciences and health sciences, in particular such as biological sciences, biotechnological sciences, environmental engineering, mining and energy, and earth and environmental sciences, with a broadly understood interdisciplinary approach covering traditionally related areas such as medicine, pharmacy, material engineering, biomedical engineering, agriculture and horticulture, food and nutrition technologies, zootechnics and fisheries. This education will ultimately provide qualified specialists ready to take action and implement solutions in the priority areas of the region's development, including biotechnology, biodiversity and the functioning, shaping and protection of the environment. The applicant will carry out information and promotion activities in accordance with the requirements of the General Regulation, the Guidelines on information and promotion of European funds for 2021-2027 and in accordance with the Visual Identity Book of the European Funds 2021-2027 brand. As part of the project, it is planned to: - installation of an information and commemorative plaque (the plaque will be mounted on the building of the newly created CBB), - organization of two press conferences - the first at the beginning of the investment and the second at the end of the investment. Representatives of the Management Board of the Silesian Voivodeship will be invited to participate in these events. An invitation to participate in at least one of these events will be addressed to representatives of the EC. During the conference, a sign language interpreter and an English translator will be provided, - information and promotion of the project in the local press and through the website and social media of the University of Silesia: www.us.edu.pl University of Silesia in Katowice | Katowice (facebook.com) https://www.instagram.com/uniwersytetslaski/ https://us.edu.pl/
