The aim of the project is to take action for the benefit of the inhabitants and areas involved in the just transition process in Katowice, to develop social activity and to prepare for acceptance of the transition process and climate change . The project will run from 01.01.2024 to 30.09.2025. The goal responds to diagnosed problems related to the lack of acceptance of change, low social activity especially among women and younger people, and social problems of groups particularly vulnerable to the effects of the transition. The target group are people living, learning or working in the Katowice area in the Katowice subregion is 1 out of 7 mining subregions of the Silesian Voivodeship covered by the transformation area. The targets are in line with the Territorial Just Transition Plan (TPST). The final recipients will be in particular women, seniors and young people aged 15-29. The project will be implemented in the area of the city of Katowice. The objectives of the project will be achieved through: implementation of a programme aimed at improving the quality of life, developing social activity and acceptance of the transition process and climate change, social animation activities for the climate transition process using local potential, activities for the development of women's managerial competences, educational and awareness-raising activities in the field of green economy, ecology and the transformation of the region related to the transition to a climate-neutral economy - in particular through the establishment of the School of Ecological Educators, implementation of 10 local initiatives concerning, among others, solving social problems, ecology, conscious participation of residents in the transformation of the region and preserving local and regional identity and ties with history and industrial heritage. The result of the project will be an increase in awareness and acceptance of transformation processes among 300 (230 women and 70 men) project participants covered by the support Planned information and promotion activities will use in particular the following 2 communication channels: offline and digital. The leader and partner inform about the project through digital communication tools such as: social media marketing (Facebook platform), Leader and Partner website, e-mail marketing. Among the traditional communication tools, the leader and partner will use the distribution of traditional printed materials such as leaflets, posters, brochures at the place of residence of potential UP and at the headquarters of the Center of Non-Governmental Organizations in Katowice. Information on recruitment to the project will also be provided directly by project employees who will reach groups not using the Internet. Information on the implementation of the project will also be sent to local institutions cooperating with the partner, i.e. The Municipal Social Welfare Centre, the Social Economy Support Centre, cultural institutions such as cultural houses, the Wojciech Korfanty Regional Institute of Culture and, above all, local NGOs.
