The main objective of the project is to raise to 30.06.2026 digital competences of at least 593 secondary school students (including 237 K and 356 M) and 3 employees (1 K, 2 M) from the subregions of the Silesian Voivodeship: Gliwice, Bytom, Bielsko, Katowice, Rybnik, meeting the needs of digital transformation. This will be achieved by organizing classes at the Faculty of Automation, Electronics and Informatics (AEI) of the Silesian University of Technology (SUT) in Gliwice. The project, which runs from 01.10.2024 to 30.06.2026, is expected to cover 740 (444 M / 296 K) and 5 employees of the SP. The goals will be achieved by 1) organizing workshops, lectures for high school students; 2) conducting the certification of employees of the WSE, and thus increasing the competitiveness and attractiveness of studies at the WSE, 3) retrofitting the WSE laboratories. The young people covered by the project will acquire theoretical and practical skills in computer science, electronics, understanding, creativity, innovative thinking and learning (task Z1). The project will inspire creative and critical thinking, developing interests and passions (task Z1) that will allow you to continue your studies or take up employment in digital enterprises. The project is to interest young people in technical sciences related to the digitalisation of the economy and society Before starting the project, each participant will be required to solve a competency test in the field of IT knowledge and communication and teamwork, and the verification of acquired competences in the form of a test will take place after the completion of the activities. Competitiveness in the game development market increases the requirements for candidates when taking up a job. Carrying out the certification of WSE employees (task Z2) will increase the quality of students' education, and thus increase their chances of taking up work. In the project planning is also retrofitting the laboratories of the WSE (task Z3) for the purposes of workshop activities. In the case of classes for students, information will also be sent to secondary schools from the project area, with a request for their further availability, e.g. on school bulletin boards, on the schools' website, through the internal school system used for communication with students and their guardians. Documents and materials intended for project participants (e.g. letters, contracts) and other documents that will be made public will be appropriately marked in accordance with the guidelines. The locations of the project will also be marked accordingly. We will also inform the public about the project through information (containing the necessary markings) published, for example, on the websites of local portals, on social media. The information and promotion activities carried out as part of the project will be documented.
