The subject of the project will be infrastructure activities in the field of construction of bicycle road communication networks in the Busko-Zdrój Municipal Functional Area with a total length of about 2.69 km. The existing cycling infrastructure in the city of Busko-Zdroj consists of cycle paths, cycle routes with a total length of about 25 km and pedestrian routes. The implementation of the project will lead to the solution of the identified problems with the Busko-Zdrój MOF, for which, among others, the lack of a coherent system of bicycle paths, the inadequacy of the existing tracks to the needs of cyclists and disabled people, insufficient number/length of paths were recognised. The aim of the project is to create safe transport connections in the form of bicycle paths, which will connect schools, workplaces, housing estates, spa facilities, enabling residents and tourists to travel comfortably and safely by bicycle. As part of the project, existing intersections along the route of planned paths will be rebuilt in order to introduce safe and collision-free cycling. The existing collisions will be rebuilt, lighting and drainage will be carried out.In connection with the location of drainage ditches along the route, it is necessary to cover the canal in Starkiewicza Street. In addition, information boards, maps in the city of Busko-Zdroj will be made, in order to promote a coherent route using an alternative means of transport. The planned routes under this project will be combined with existing and planned paths for other projects.Zero-emission cycling means improving air quality and reducing noise, striking a balance between costs and environmental effects.
