Rehabilitation of oncological patients from the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship.

The Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship has been struggling with a high incidence of malignant tumors for years. In 2021, the region ranked 2nd in Poland in terms of cancer incidence per 100,000 men and 7th in terms of the rate for women. In Świętokrzyskie, in 2021 (last available data), there were 3204 new cases of malignant neoplasms (1839 M and 1365K). In men, the most common performance: prostate cancer (23.8%), lung cancer (14.0%), colorectal cancer (11.4%), bladder cancer (6.8%), kidney cancer (3.5%). Women were most often ill with: breast cancer (21.3%), colon (9.7%), uterine stem (8.0%), lung (7.8%) and thyroid (5.1%). Chronic diseases, including cancer, are the leading cause of death (in 2021, the standardised sympathy for cancer deaths was 266 per 100,000. (latest available data KRN, GUS), as well as long-term incapacity for work. Despite the important role of rehabilitation in the recovery process, access to rehab services is limited. Świętokrzyskie has for years had one of the lowest rates of professional activity in the country. In the fourth quarter of 2023, it was only 54.4%, with a further decrease in the 55+ age group. The high number of layoffs and long periods of absence mean that many cancer patients do not return to the labour market. The aim of the project is to provide cancer patients with access to comprehensive rehabilitation, which will improve their condition, well-being and facilitate the return to professional and social activity. The planned rehabilitation and rehabilitation is individualized and will be implemented on the basis of an individual intervention plan, defining the objectives, frequency and intensity of activities. The main objective of pr. is to improve the functional efficiency of economically active oncological patients (working or registered as unemployed) from the Świętokrzyskie voivodship, through the use of therapeutic rehabilitation, enabling them to continue or take up work during or after oncological treatment in at least 10% of Pr. participants during its implementation. The type of support offered will be tailored to the needs and opportunities arising from the patient's state of health, type and severity of the disease and the treatment carried out.The project assumes physiotherapeutic services, group physical activity classes, occupational therapy workshops, psychologist's support, dietary consultations, social support, including consultations in the field of labor law. Benefits in PR will be free of charge and on a voluntary basis. The implemented support will not replace healthcare services, the financing of which is guaranteed from public funds, and will not duplicate actions implemented in functioning national health programmes. The conditions of support will be in accordance with the principle of equality K and M, equal opportunities and non-discretion, including access for persons from incomplete .Pr. in terms of preparation and method of implementation is consistent with national legislation, as well as with the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU (including Article 20 equality, Article 21 non-discrimination, Article 23 equality KiM, Article 26 integr. os. minor, Article 37 protection of the environment) and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. In carrying out educational-inf. activities and support, it is assumed that human dignity and freedom, including those from incomplete persons, will be respected. The project complies with the principle of sustainable development and the principle of DNSH, horizontal principles. The project will be managed in such a way as to efficiently use mat., rationally manage resources. Purchased equipment and equipment will not cause significant harm to any of the environmental objectives under Article 17 of Regulation (EU) 2020/85 in accordance with the ‘do no significant harm’ principle. The activities carried out in the project and the purchased equipment will not be used for commercial purposes.
