Scouting Tutoring - development of basic skills and competences

Adult learning has become a topic of great importance in the area of public policies in recent years. It is emphasized that it brings benefits not only in the professional sphere, but also in the private, social or civic sphere. From the point of view of the state, it contributes to raising the level of human capital, bringing economic and social benefits. In carrying out its statutory tasks, ZHP Chorągiew Kelecka in 2021-2022 joined the nationwide programme of developing and implementing new methods of improving competences in adults. The model developed jointly with the Institute for Educational Research (IBE) in the project "Socially and digitally effective scouting tutoring", as part of the programme "Opportunities for adults" (contract number WER19SZA0031), became the basis for this project. It takes into account the "Upskilling Pathways" recommended by the Council of the EU: assessment/diagnosis, education, validation) and contemporary adult learning needs. Educational activities are based on four methodological principles: 1. Awareness of goals – the participant must be aware of the purpose of his activities, independently indicate the directions of development of interest to him 2. Learning in action – the acquisition of knowledge and skills is acquired in a situation of self-activity and not during lectures 3. Intermediation – educational objectives are not pursued directly, and indirectly, e.g. to increase the competence of creating e-mails, a conversation should be conducted with the e-mail recipient on topics of interest to him or her 4. Peer-to-peer interaction – the teacher-student scheme should be abandoned, the relationship between the learner and the taught should be based on partnership. As part of the project, 100 (50k/50M) recipients from the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, with low qualifications or basic skills, will receive support that will enable the improvement of basic competences, including digital ones. The project will build on 2 adult learning models delivered under the ‘Opportunity – New Opportunities for Adults’ programme: "Socially and digitally effective – scout tutoring" - author: ZHP Chorągiew Kelecka; The design of the project activities will be based on the following stages: 1. Audit of Participant's Competence 2. Tutoring education with supporting forms (Social projects, digital competence workshops) 3. Validation of basic competences, including digital ones. Tutoring is a world-renowned method of working with adults. It allows to individualize work, contributes to breaking the basic barriers among adults in terms of psycho-physical development. The tutor-led relationship is similar to an adult-acceptable partnership, as opposed to a teacher-student school relationship. As part of the tutoring, participants are not ‘teached’ ex-chair, but guided, supported in achieving their goals. At the same time, the form of tutoring allows you to maximize the flexibility of classes, adjust the time and place of their conduct, raise topics important at a given moment for the participant, without being hampered by a rigid schedule. This flexibility is important in addressing gender barriers. Especially in the Świętokrzyskie voivodship, where the traditional pattern of sharing family responsibilities, i.e. a working man and a woman taking care of the house, still prevails. The unintended result of this situation is a different hourly availability of women and men. The model used is fully compliant with DNSH and sustainability principles – reducing material and energy consumption. By creating a space for self-improvement for vulnerable groups, it prevents marginalization and thus remains in full compliance with the Charter of Fundamental Rights In accordance with the "Instructions for filling in the application for co-financing", more data about the project can be found in the section "Additional information
