The project provides for carrying out own activities and granting grants to cooperating units and local government units in the area of broadly understood support for the development of local authorities (in particular those with low institutional potential from areas at risk of permanent marginalisation and medium-sized cities losing their socio-economic functions) for the preparation and implementation of projects (predefined and pilot) in key areas from the FE's point of view aimed at developing model solutions and preparing potential beneficiaries for the implementation of interventions from EU funds. The areas that will be affected by the project activities are, among others, smart cities, smart specializations, broadly understood urban policy, regeneration, revitalization, decontamination and restoration of areas, urban resiliency, implementation of accessibility and universal design in the activities of local governments, building urban-rural links, strategic planning in the CEE, institutional capacity and building management competences in the CEE bodies, cultural heritage, leisure industry and others affecting the development of the CEE. Activities will be undertaken, among others, in the form of grant competitions, organized expert advice, trainings, conferences, study visits. The project is a continuation of projects implemented in POPT 2014-2020, where expenditure was incurred until 30 June 2023.
