The aim of the project is to modernise and rebuild the existing I/48 road on the D48 motorway in category D 25,5/120 with a length of 13,167 km. It is one of the constructions carried out as part of the homogenisation of the entire route Bělotín – Český Těšín. The D48 motorway is part of the trans-European road network TEN-T and connects the long-distance international route Brno - Hranice - Frýdek - Místek - Český Těšín with connections in the direction of Poland and Slovakia.
