As part of this project, four STRABAG Rail 741-series locomotives will be equipped with the ETCS on-board unit. ETCS is a modern and standardised rail safety system that is used to improve the safety and efficiency of rail transport in Europe. ETCS has been developed to replace different national train traffic management systems and improve interoperability between rail networks in different countries.
