The purpose of the construction is to create a retention space of 3.60 million m3 ensuring an increase in flood protection in the Novohradka watercourse basin. The new retention space will be provided by the construction of the Kutřín polder, whose dam is located on the first significant tributary on the Krounka watercourse. The implementation of the action will prevent the concurrence of flood events in Novohradka and Krounce.
