Overall objective of the project: Functionalisation of other forms of urban mobility and cycle paths for cyclists and pedestrian walkways in the town of Ștei. Developing a clean transport network is a necessity at Ştei city level because it responds to two real needs. On the one hand, in the near future, Romania must comply with the European requirements regarding the reduction of CO2 emissions, and SUMP Ștei presents this desideratum, Romania having transposed into law the EU policies in this field, and a number of national strategies stipulate, in addition, the concerns for the protection of the environment and sustainable development. On the other hand, the need to implement a support network for clean transport for cyclists and pedestrians is determined by the progress and developments that mark the life of Ștei, a relevant element being that of the development of the industrial area of the city which will contribute to the economic development of the city.
