The overall objective of the project is to increase the attractiveness of urban public spaces and improve the quality of life of an estimated 19,000 inhabitants of Gherla municipality by regenerating a space in total area of 133,811 sqm. This project falls under the activities and objectives set out in Policy Objective 5 ‘A Europe closer to citizens by promoting the sustainable and integrated development of all types of territories and local initiatives’, contributes to the achievement of Specific Objective 5.1/e (i): Promoting integrated and inclusive social, economic and environmental development, as well as culture, natural heritage, sustainable tourism and security in urban areas, Investment Priority 7 "An attractive region" and creating attractive spaces by re-addressing existing urban space and the security of public spaces.
