Increasing green areas and facilitating access to them is one of the safest ways to increase the quality of life in a city. The role of green spaces is not only to improve the quality of life, but also to ensure a better level of health. In addition to clear recreational and environmental benefits (reducing air pollution, reducing the heat island effect, controlling water leakage), green spaces also have a well-documented psychological benefit. The development, rehabilitation and maintenance of urban infrastructure should be an absolute priority for any local public administration. Unfortunately, green infrastructure is poorly developed in Romania. Of the county residences in Romania, only 5 have more than 26 m2 of green space per capita – the margin recommended by the European Commission for urban spaces. Craiova is one of these 5 county residences, with 36.5 m2 of green spaces per capita, according to letter No 200477/28.0
