The overall objective of the project is to improve the national air quality assessment and monitoring system, and involves the expansion and modernisation of the air quality monitoring infrastructure in the administration of institutions under the central public authority for environmental protection in order to increase the accuracy of specific information and the capacity to respond to pollution episodes in order to improve environmental conditions in the urban area and to promote measures to reduce air pollution, in accordance with the requirements of Directive 2008/50/EC, in order to ensure a safe environment for quality of life.
