The main objective of the project is to increase the volume of goods transited on inland waterways by extending the operating capacity in the port of Luminita, in order to provide optimal conditions for the shipping of goods. The investment objective of Luminita Port is included in the Investment Programme for the development of transport infrastructure for the period 2021-2030, approved by Government Decision No 1312/2021 amending Government Decision No 666/2016 approving the Strategic Master Document General Transport Plan of Romania, Table 2.4.6-Projects from the baseline scenario, position 16 and Table 2.4.8-List of projects related to river ports for the period 2021-2030, position 23. According to the assessment made, MPGT proposes the modernization of the current infrastructure, in order to achieve the following operational objectives: unlocking barriers for operational efficiency, reducing costs through operational efficiency, increasing the volume of goods
