On 16 December 2022, the European Commission approved by Implementing Decision C(2022) 9754 final the ‘Transport’ Programme (hereinafter referred to as ‘TP’) for support from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Cohesion Fund (CF) to support investments meeting Romania’s development needs, identified in the Investment Programme for the Development of Transport Infrastructure for the period 2021-2030 (IP), which is the updated implementation strategy of Romania’s Master General Transport Plan (MPGT), a document approved by Government Decision No 666/2016 and updated by Government Decision No 1312/2021. The vision for 2030 of the Transport Programme (PT) 2021-2027 is to have in operation in Romania a high-quality transport infrastructure network, ensuring connectivity between Romania and the rest of the European Union, as well as between all regions of the country, safely and in harmony with the objectives of climate neutrality and protection of the environment.
