The overall objective of the project is to develop and modernize the port infrastructure of ROTRAC SA in order to increase the operating capacity and efficiency of the port terminal, thus contributing to reducing bottlenecks in the area of Romanian ports and improving their competitiveness in the context of disruptions caused by the blockage of Ukrainian shipping lanes. This objective aligns with the priorities of the Transport Operational Programme 2021-2027, which aims to develop resilient, smart, safe, sustainable and intermodal waterborne and multimodal transport in line with the TEN-T network. It is also in line with Priority 7 - Developing waterborne and multimodal transport and Specific Objective 3.1 - Developing a climate-resilient, smart, safe, sustainable and intermodal TEN-T network, under the Transport Operational Programme 2021-2027.
